Dorrien Gardens
The Little Italy Precinct
A civic rebuild of the home ground — written for partners and government as much as for matchday.
The case
This is a $30 million rebuild of Dorrien Gardens — not a coat of paint, a Little Italy precinct with football at the centre and Italian civic life around it. The figure is the scale of the ask: a public-facing ground that government, naming partners and the next fifty years of Azzurri can put a name to.
The works
What the precinct holds
-
01
Piazza
A civic square for festivals, markets and matchday gathering — the Italian street, in West Perth.
-
02
Grandstand
A proper home stand: sightlines, shelter and a terrace that matches the club’s record.
-
03
Pitches
Match and training surfaces built for NPL night and the junior pathway beneath it.
-
04
Gymnasium
Strength and recovery for seniors, juniors and members who use the ground through the week.
-
05
Italian Club facilities
Rooms for the community that has kept Azzurri Italian for 78 years — dinners, meetings, feast days.
-
06
Carpark
On-site parking so the precinct works on a Tuesday night as well as a Saturday final.

The precinct is the long case for Perth Azzurri — a ground that can sit in a sponsorship deck and a government brief without apology.
